Lors de la <strong>phase d\u2019initiation<\/strong>, une combinaison de facteurs environnementaux et de pr\u00e9dispositions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques entra\u00eene une rupture de la tol\u00e9rance immunitaire. Cette rupture provoque l\u2019activation de cellules immunitaires autor\u00e9actives. Pendant la <strong>phase d\u2019amplification<\/strong>, ces cellules amplifient la r\u00e9ponse immunitaire en lib\u00e9rant des cytokines et en attirant d\u2019autres cellules immunitaires vers le site de l\u2019inflammation. Cette phase peut devenir auto-entretenue, conduisant souvent \u00e0 une inflammation chronique. La <strong>phase de r\u00e9solution<\/strong> se caract\u00e9rise par l\u2019att\u00e9nuation des r\u00e9actions auto-immunes, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019activation de m\u00e9canismes inhibiteurs intrins\u00e8ques et extrins\u00e8ques aux cellules. Ces m\u00e9canismes agissent ensemble pour limiter la r\u00e9ponse effectrice et r\u00e9tablir l\u2019\u00e9quilibre entre les cellules T effectrices (Teff) et les cellules T r\u00e9gulatrices (Treg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cependant, les patients dans cette phase connaissent fr\u00e9quemment des rechutes et des r\u00e9missions. Ces rechutes, marqu\u00e9es par une lutte continue entre les r\u00e9ponses effectrices pathog\u00e8nes et les m\u00e9canismes r\u00e9gulateurs, peuvent causer des dommages tissulaires, aboutissant aux manifestations cliniques des maladies auto-immunes.
